i crept into town on the fourth of july, the truth of the world was a lie. i went to the tree where we thought we'd grow old, we were so sold. we met on the fourth of... july's bells rang through, into the room we knew, always missed all the freeway signs. hell-bent, i'd always remembered when our lives were much simpler then - you know that. always bring it back to you... always bring it back from me to you.

the move from the paper to the pictures in her hand, she always thought about the reasons once had. alone she watched the ocean crash into the shore, the moment captured but it's found no more. this city was where her heart lay there cold and bare, no more reasons could make her stay. walking into the night - that moment wasn't such a big surprise. her steps they slowly left her footprints in the snow as she moved further from the town's swan song.

feel the breeze push it around, let it go without a sound, never wait for it to rise. fearing love is nothing new, it's something there to hold onto, and then you let it all subside. never really ever knew, the way we thought we always knew, i always just wanted you to try. i've said it a hundred times or more, our love is lying at the door, and i need protection from the cold. feel the dark surround the night, souls in mourning taking flight, it never was that new to you. pull it down let nothing in, just fall back down and scrape some skin, then get back up to walk on by.

standing under a broken sky, the stars might shine. i can't imagine they rearrange, just enough to improve my fate. fall asleep inside the night, for this broken flight. i've fallen into a million dreams, for fear that i might stumble into the sea - where all my dreams are waiting for me.
